About  Us

Here at the Barre Historical Society we  know the importance of not only preserving history but also sharing it with the public. We work hard to maintain our archives as well as museum displays so that they may be shared with future generations.  Throughout the year we offer a variety of lectures and programs of interest to our members and the community. Our collections of local history and genealogy are available for research by appointment.

Our buildings are open most Thursdays from 10:00am-Noon as well as Saturday mornings to coincide with The Barre Farmer's Market at which time visitors are more than welcome to stop by.

For more information on programs, exhibits and hours please see the Event page. Also, feel free to contact us via the Contact page above.
